JYP Entertainment surpasses SM Entertainment in market cap for the first time ever

JYP Entertainment�has overcome�SM Entertainment�in market capitalization.�

According to Yonhap News on August 29, JYP Entertainment surpassed SM Entertainment by 12.4 billion KRW (11 million USD) in the KOSDAQ (Korea Securities Dealers Automated Quotation) market.�With the markets closed on August 29, JYP had a market capitalization of 1.09 trillion KRW ($981 million) and SM Entertainment had a market cap of 1.078 trillion KRW ($970 million).

This is the first time ever JYP Entertainment has beaten SM Entertainment since KOSDAQ's establishment on August 30, 2001. Prior to this, JYP Entertainment overcame YG Entertainment�in January.�

Financial investment research expert Han Kyung Rae�commented, "JYP's stock rose over 5 times with TWICE's successful promotions in Japan," and added, "We're looking forward to a continuous increase in stock with TWICE and GOT7's ongoing growth and the debut of rookie groups."
