Late actress Jang Ja Yeon's labelmate revealed Jang Ja Yeon was sexually abused at drinking establishments.
The July 24 episode of MBC's 'PD Note' covered Jang Ja Yeon's suicide and sexual abuse case from 2009.
A former labelmate of the late actress spoke up in an interview with 'PD Note' after a long time of hesitation and thought. The labelmate claimed Jang Ja Yeon was forced to drink with entertainment heads including agency CEOs, reporters, and more.
She explained, "They told her to go on the table. She went on top of the table and danced and sang." The labelmate continued to describe, "He dragged her and made her sit on his lap. I was shocked and unnie was shocked too. Unnie tried to get up from his lap but he forced her down. He even touched parts of her body."
The labelmate added, "I wondered if he was (in a position where he's) capable of making such actions. He looked the youngest out of all. No one expressed anger. I was scared and so shocked. I can still remember the time clearly."
In March 2009, Jang Ja Yeon committed suicide and left a letter revealing how she was coerced into sexual relations with entertainment heads. In June 2018, the prosecution decided to reinvestigate her case in response to the overflowing amount of reinvestigation request.
