The association continued, "The reformed overseas travel permit regulations are supplementary to the existing regulations because the short-term overseas travel permit have been widely abused as a method of postponing military enlistment. Individuals between ages of 25 and 27 (28 if an individual is enrolled in a doctoral program, attending school, or delayed enlistment) are eligible for a short-term overseas travel permit."
The Military Manpower Association concluded, "If there is treatment for an illness, a family event, or unavoidable circumstances that don't impede upon the obligation of military service, then individuals who are over 28 can get an overseas travel permit."

Doojoon has previously delayed his military enlistment due to a knee injury and related complications, and along with this, the standards for overseas entry examination of military service participants have been strengthened, which makes it difficult to enter or leave the country recently, under the Military Service Act. I would like to inform you that the amendment itself has not been directly related to Yoon Doojun's overseas departure or entry in relation to the May 29th military law amendment as announced previously... We apologize for causing worry and confusion to so many."
