Singer-actress Nam Gyu Ri shared how she reached out to agencies to achieve her dreams.
On the May 10 airing of tvN's 'Life Bar', Nam Gyu Ri revealed she used to dream of becoming a solo artist like BoA, Lee Hyori, and Ivy. In order to make this dream come true, she worked part-time at a cafe near the�SM Entertainment�building.�
Nam Gyu Ri said, "One day, each of the label CEOs had a meeting at the cafe I was working at. I tried to make myself noticeable but nobody saw me. After some thought, I wrote down my talent, name, and contact on a note."�
To Yang Hyun Suk and Lee Soo Man who were about to head out of the cafe, Nam Gyu Ri said, "I really want to attend auditions."
SM Entertainment contacted Nam Gyu Ri first but she auditioned for YG Entertainment because she loved hip-hop. However, Yang Hyun Suk told her, "I think acting suits you better than singing." Nam Gyu Ri didn't give up and she was able to become a YG trainee after showing her dance.�
