On March 10, actor Yoo Ah In posted a video on his Instagram, reportedly from a scene of witch-burning. The video caused a stir among netizens, because it was posted on the same day as the death of actor Jo Min Ki. Netizens surmise that Yoo Ah In is paralleling the accusations of sexual harassment placed against the late actor in light of the #MeToo movement, to the act of witch-hunting.
The actor has not revealed any further explanation regarding the controversial video, and netizens are continuing to accuse him of allegedly sympathizing with Jo Min Ki. Since the truth behind his intentions is still in the dark, netizens are also connecting this incident back to Yoo Ah In's past controversies related to social media, including a debate with trainee Han Seo Hee over the issue of feminism.
Some netizens' comments included: "Yoo Ah In is basically asking for controversies through SNS", "Witch-hunting shouldn't be so easily compared with accusations of sexual harassment", "The death of Jo Min Ki is sad for the sake of his family and for the victims but the actor himself should not be 'supported'", and more.
