On March 14, Kim Bo Reum's mother Kim Seon Ok revealed to media outlet Kookmin Ilbo, "I took Bo Reum to a hospital in Daegu on the 12th and she received a mental exam. She was hospitalized on that day as suggested by the hospital."
The mother explained, "Bo Reum is scared of standing in front of people. She went to a private hospital in Seoul but I suggested her to come to Daegu to go to a hospital together as her condition was severe."
The exam results showed that Kim Bo Reum is suffering from stress and anxiety. The doctors recommended hospitalization and a time of rest for treatment.

Kim Bo Reum has been receiving criticism for "bullying" her teammate at the '2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics'. Netizens even demanded her to be removed from the national team for shaming her teammate.
Kim Bo Reum and coach Baik Chul Ki officially apologized, however, the criticism is still ongoing.
