On December 21, their label Brand New Music confirmed, "We're announcing that the 3-member group Phantom will be disbanding after their stage tomorrow at Brand New Music's year-end concert 'BRANDNEW Year 2017 BRANDNEW Season', and they'll be cheering each other on as they go their separate ways."

The agency continued, "Though Phantom and the company are regretful of this decision, it's a decision they came to after thinking a long time of each other's futures. We ask that you understand their choice, and we'll be sincerely thankful if you support their new starts warmly."

Despite disbanding as a group, Kiggen, Sanchez, and Hanhae will be remaining under Brand New Music.
