On November 10, Santa Music released a statement regarding the artist's comeback, "On November 29, he will be releasing a lead single to start off his 2nd album promotions." Additionally, Naul gave his reason for releasing an early single ahead of the full album.
Naul said, "The concept of a single record has gotten confusing, since a sense of a digital single has gotten strong. Singles weren't meant to be disposable music which were to be consumed, then disappear, but rather an attempt to try out a variety of things. Another point was to think deeply about each song, and letting others hear a variety of different sounds. It was a way in which many musicians released music even before the digital era."
