Remember our article about AKB48 possibly appearing on 'Produce 101' Season 3? Although those rumors turned out to be false, it appears there was some merit about working with Mnet.
On November 20, Mnet Director Kim Ki Woong confirmed popular Japanese idol group AKB48 will be holding a joint stage with the former IOI members (most likely Weki Meki, PRISTIN, and Kim Chung Ha) together live at MAMA. He stated, "There will be a collaborative stage with AKB48 in Japan. The popular Japanese idol group will be performing with former IOI members, in which, fans can look forward to greatly. In addition, both Hong Kong and Vietnam will also have special stage collabs as well."

The 'MAMA 2017' in Japan will be held at the Yokohama Arena on November 29.
