SHINee's Jonghyun has wrapped up his solo concert series 'The Letter'.
He had 20 shows starting from May 26th. Originally, he was scheduled to have 12 shows but added 8 more because of overwhelming support from his fans. He saw 14,000 fans even though the concert was a small theater venue.

He performed songs such as "Lonely", "Where Are You", all the song from his second collection, as well as "Base", "She Is", and more. He also did parodies of famous CFs are requested by fans.

I was lucky to listen to 2 1/2 hours of streaming of his first concert "The Letter" and this sunday, the last one. It was enchanting to hear Jonghyun singing live with a band and the participation of the public was truly impressive. I mean they knew the lyrics of each song and they sung along beautifully. They even sung Taeyeon's part from 'Lonely', Younha's part from 'Love belt' and at the end 'Beautiful tonight'. The fanchants were great as Shawols usually are. Jonghyun communicated a lot with them and read letters which he received from fans and then he interviewed those who wrote them. At the end they sung Happy chuk ha ham ni da for his 20th concert, it was wonderful. I don't understand why SM doesn't release DVDs for this kind of concerts, they don't need more money? at least SM declared that this series of 20 concertswas sold out totalizing 14K tickets in a venue with 700 seats.

It's always a pleasure to witness the success of a singer who performs live. Unfortunately kpop is too focused on the physical appearance of idols rather than on music and often the concerts are just huge colorful shows with "singers" who dance and only pretend to sing while a loud backing track completely replaces their voice. So congratulations to Jonghyun, a singer who sings LIVE in a world where concerts are just a lip-sinc party with pretty faces, sexy choreographies and fake voices.
