Following the news of Park Geun Hye's official removal from office, "Into the New World" released in 2007 and "Female President" released in 2013 have been taking top rankings on music charts, as well as on real-time search.

Currently, there are many people in South Korea who are in a festive mood following the historical moment of Park Geun Hye's impeachment.

In celebration, Koreans are dancing and singing along to "Into the New World" - a cheery and bright song perfect for the magnificent day. The title "Into the New World'' also suits perfectly with the nation's current situation as they're about to enter a new world without Park Geun Hye.

"Female President" is also gaining tremendous attention for its lyrics. The part where it goes:

"Our country's president is now a female

So what's the big deal?

Why can't girls do it first?

Will we get arrested if we do it first?"

Many netizens are jokingly claiming that the song foreshadowed Park Geun Hye's arrest.

Meanwhile, Park Geun Hye is the first Korean democratically elected leader ever to get impeached.

Yeah they won't be getting another female president for at least the next 50 years

thank god america wasn't dumb enough to elect a woman as the leader.

Yeah they were only dumb enough to get trump elected

rickkelly kdramafaaan Saturday, March 11, 2017

Trump won because he had a better SNS score and album sales.

Thank god you aren't here right now because I'd punch you in the face and mug your mom.

typical example of the 'tolerant' left that got trump elected. thanks for supporting trump 2020.

And that's how you know SNSD will forever be Korea's most iconic girl group. They use ITNW for everything lolol

Also in that list, "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay. "I used to rule the world," indeed. Who says Koreans don't have a sense of irony?

skididdlepopper Friday, March 10, 2017

using 'Female President' though...after what has happened, it really doesn't seem too empowering to women. This just makes it seem that South Koreans are going to be sexist when voting for a president next time- that they'll think twice before ever electing a woman again.

Perhaps, but there will also be those who remember that she is Park Chung Hee's daughter, and the durian never falls far from the tree. No other female politician would be able to have that said about them.

WOW! And are we not going to mention how RV was at #4 at the time of that screenshot????

liviekate Friday, March 10, 2017

omg russian roulette!!!! YES RV!!!!!

yutakunnn liviekate Friday, March 10, 2017

I understant ITNW and female president. but how can russian roulette become trending too? is the lyric matching with the current situation? or because its a bright song to cheer the mood?

liviekate yutakunnn Friday, March 10, 2017

i guess because korea might feel like they took a risk with the choices they've made? and the lyrics can be read in a way that might fit that "secrets in a dark veil, deeper and deeper h-h-hush"

liviekate yutakunnn Friday, March 10, 2017

idk if that makes sense, but i think it'd have to mean more than just an upbeat song. thats too broad for just one song to rise up 50 spots

kpopfandom2 Friday, March 10, 2017

hahaha this is amazing
