wait, is she going to debut as a solo artist ? =O, if it's true then good luck.

Im_you_pantseu Wednesday, February 1, 2017

Everyone love somi but people hate on alex for no reason except the fact that she is not korean. shameful ...

RicoVNlt3K_POP Wednesday, February 1, 2017

So she is a solo artist right now?

EatJinn Wednesday, February 1, 2017

She's kinda like Youngji right now. Signed under their companies but does not have a girl group to be in. Both are just gonna be doing a lot of variety show appearances, mc-ing, endorsements here and there. Both have potential to be in a girl group, yet their company is failing to provide them that opportunity--who knows when they will be..

i personally dont see whats the hype about this girl, she isnt that much of a visual nor does she have great vocals.

michinpabo kenichi_kun Wednesday, February 1, 2017

Every white girl who's into kpop is living their lives vicariously through her. lol She's as close to a famous white chick kpop has to offer.

3percenter kenichi_kun Wednesday, February 1, 2017

Naturally you wouldn't. I could ask you oppaers what the hype is about every scrawny effeminate makeup wearing sissy beatdown-bait in a boy group.

kenichi_kun 3percenter Thursday, February 2, 2017

hunty, you thought u were about to drag me but let me pop ur bubble. i dont listen to even ONE boy group lmao. im a guy and im OBSESSED with mamamoo and GG so try again.

Well, you are in a minority who isn't charmed by Somi. Most could give a rat's ass about her vocal ability. She is so beloved by so many and popular as a media personality and endorsement model because she is a burst of pure adorable positive energy.

kenichi_kun 3percenter Friday, February 3, 2017

thats exactly what was i talking about, like why would they. i think as the person above said, white kpop fans are living through her lmao

In the multitudes of fans and public admirers that go ape-shit over Somi on Korean variety shows, at concerts in Korea, and in the Korean media, there are no "White" people. And you seem to forget she won Produce 101 with based on the votes and dedication of millions of KOREAN fans. Don't know where you get this delusion that Somi's popularity and celebrity status in SOUTH KOREA is based on some foreign "White" kpop fans living vicariously through her. And you seem to also suffer from the delusion that vocal ability is some kind of hallmark of kpop. Kpop is fluff. In each group there may be only one or two really good vocalists - the rest are mediocre singers or unable to sing at all. But the non-vocalists are just as important to the success of the group - and probably more. An outstanding visual can generate far more attention than even the best vocal. Kpop is about visual performance, not musical artistry. The "vocal" argument used in attempts to demean girl group members like Somi, Tzuyu, Seolhuyn, Yoona, etc is not only pathetic but idiotic.

If I were Somi, I'd be very worried. JYP has proven completely unable to manage more than one girl group at a time (just like YG). If she wants to be in a girl group, she's in trouble. Hopefully she's interested in acting, modeling, or hosting variety shows, because those are likely the only areas she's going to be making any money for the foreseeable future, unless she wants to go the solo singer route.

Calamity10 tyger11 Wednesday, February 1, 2017

Somi dont fit acting. Why? If those pure korean blood idols is struggling in acting then how would be Somi? With this, she will be bashed more depending on the result. Also what would she do in acting?Cry always? And I cant see her hosting variety shows, she is too young. In short, she should not complain because shes the one who first pushed this decision.

marshmello_123 tyger11 Wednesday, February 1, 2017

Hmm JYP isn't the CEO. Each artist/idol group has their own management team now. Somi is prob going solo and then placed in a girl group later. Its cause she got so popular from P101.

tyger11 marshmello_123 Wednesday, February 1, 2017

It doesn't seem to matter much; look at how well Wonder Girls and Miss A are doing as proof of what I am saying.

marshmello_123 tyger11 Wednesday, February 1, 2017

Somi is too valuable to JYPE and we will see what they have in store for her. Wonder Girls were strong for 10 years but some members left and got married, so members were replaced, and it was ultimately their decision to disband. MissA is JYP's fault though. It got to the point where there was conflict within the group and how one was significantly more popular than the rest.

Monkeytae Wednesday, February 1, 2017

Wow she is going to be big. At this rate i dont think she is suitable to move in girlgroup.

thefabcat92 Wednesday, February 1, 2017

so what's her future plan JYP?

melalabanana Wednesday, February 1, 2017

I guess Somi is going solo for a while. Maybe JYP is waiting for YG's other girl group to debut this year. Or maybe JYP is considering some KPOP Star 6 contestant to debut with Somi.
