'Inkigayo's voting system has come under fire.

At the end of the 9th episode, fans noticed a startling change in the new ranking system. The new maximum value for real-time votes had changed from the previous 1000 to 6000 - meaning that the votes counted as much as the music sales. While they'd been told that the real-time voting during the show had changed, they didn't realize that the change would be so significant. The first ones up with the new system were GOT7, A Pink, and Park Hyo Sin, and fans were dismayed at the sudden change (however, even if the maximum real-time votes were 1000 and things are scaled down, GOT7 still wins the show by a wide margin).

After the show, viewers went to the 'Inkigayo' page to demand if this was legitimate. Many felt that it was wrong for real-time votes to count as much as the music sales did, pointing out that the show was not a popularity contest but a music show. Others thought it was unfairly biased for boy groups, who normally have larger fan bases than girl groups do.

There is currently no statement from 'Inkigayo'. What do you think of the situation?

I don't really get this whole digital and voting thing but to me it means the same. Streaming your favour song or downloading your favour song or even voting for your favour song it's all same thing, it all comes down to a song. You can't say one song is better then the other cuz it's all down to who is listening and their preferences. It's sad that people are saying it was weird that got7 won, whats so weird about it? they love singing and being artist just like any other artist, they don't wake up early to promote just as some of you stated music shows having low viewing but they still get there been humble and still enjoy them selfes. They were so happy they won even when SBS corrected their error but it makes me feel sad that they name is being dragged into this ugly article. They less popular in Korea that is the truth as much it pains me but it's true, they are trying so please don't drag them into this 🙏🏾. I don't ever one them to see this and think to them selfes they were not worthy that trophy. One day my boys and continue with your promotion happily.

it's kinda unfair :/// i like the live voting better

wonderboy47 Monday, October 10, 2016

Yeah it will be unfair. Boy groups often win against girl groups because of Physical sales so doing the real time votes like this would mean boy groups have triple the chance to win against girls.

It's abit unfair... Not only are the odds being stacked against girl groups, there goes any small chance of an unpopular group to win. What about those songs that actually do well on the charts without a huge fanbase? It's all for not, when a big fandom can just vote for their faves.

This new ranking system is seriously shit. Girl groups don't stand a chance against boy groups now, unless they have fandoms like Soshi's or TWICE's. Inkigayo was suppose to be the award show for the popular song!

I wish they would get rid of giving awards. Everything is based off of popularity any way.

I think the ranking system is seriously unfair, they are seriously make it out of popularity and not in talent. If it's going to be like this, then what's the point of having music programs?

Chaaanis Monday, October 10, 2016

When everything is about popularity. It's kinda unfair. It's music show to show talent, not popularity.
