Welcome to our third edition of our 'K-indie Spotlight' series in 2016 where we introduce various independent artists in Korea each month!
With the help from 'Onstage [K],' a Korean indie music program that introduces the authentic beauty of Korean contemporary music to the world, we hope to be adding diversity and possibly enlightening our readers with the Korean music scene that has not yet been touched on.

Cho Eung-Min
Jazz guitarist Cho Eung-min is renowned for his modern and sensual guitar sound. He captures warm human sentiments as well as typical East Asian feelings using modern technology. That unusual musicality makes him an one of a kind artist in Korea. He's the guest of this edition of ONSTAGE K, and we will get to take a glimpse at his artistry - the warm side of coldness.�
Kwak Pureunhaneul
Kwak Pureunhaneul is a singer-songwriter, also known as the IU of Hongdae. She talks about her honest life stories with her acoustic guitar and soothing voice, which helped her quickly establish her realm in the industry. Despite her young age, Kwak Pureunhaneul is capable of singing, composing, writing lyrics and even arranging. Let's find more about her beautiful musicality.
Sunny Kim
"Sunny Kim's voice is exceptionally deep and unique, and her musical vision is bold and beautiful," said guitarist Ben Monder. Sunny Kim covers a wide variety of music genres with her experimental creativity and proves that the human voice is the best instrument of all. Jun Bum Sun and the Yangbans
Jun Bum Sun and the Yangbans is a rock and roll quartet formed in 2013. The band name stands for their desire to live like Yangban, part of the traditional ruling class or gentry during the Joseon Dynasty, who studied and worked for the government during the day but enjoyed the arts at night. Led by vocalist, composer, and lyricist Jun Bum-sun, the band is comprised of drummer Kim Bo-jong, guitarist Choi Hyun-gyu and bassist Jang Won-hyuk. They released the first album, "Love Songs," in 2014 and the second album, "Revolution Songs," in 2016. The quartet combined the most Korean language and expressions with the fierce and aggressive sounds of rock, encouraging the weak to revolt despite being Yangban, the ruling class.
Park Hye-li�
Park Hye-li is a singer-songwriter and accordion player who comforts the weary soul in this tough era. She debuted in the industry after winning an honor at the Yoo Jae-ha Contest back in 2002 and has been pursuing various activities as a member of The Jung Won-young Band, Bard and Second Moon, along with her career as a solo artist. Furthermore, the artist took part in various soundtracks, including the Korean wave drama "Princess Hours" and "Boys over Flowers," offering music that the heart can sing.
A'Zbus
The band A'Zbus made their big debut by sweeping all the rookie awards and competition programs, such as the Pentaport Super Rookies, Hello Rookie of the Year and "Top Band." Comprised of guitarist and vocalist Woo-ju, bassist Woo Seok-je, drummer Kang Tae-keun, and engineer Lee Jea-hoon, the band shows the beauty of the difference with their impressively wide spectrum of music.
