In an interview with OSEN today, Yoon Kye Sang gave his thoughts on being a singer-turned-actor.

He said, "In the past, I did use to complain and blame other people a lot.  But then I met actors my age and seeing as how the senior and junior actors with whom I networked expanded, I realized that originally being a singer didn't make things hard.  They had felt the same thing when they were rookies.  Everyone had a hard time and had to walk down the same path," emphasizing that acting wasn't harder for him just because he was originally a singer.

He added, "It is true that singer-turned-actors get a lot of hate comments and get judged a lot. However, that is why they need to work even harder.  Even now, idols are going to auditions and working hard consistently, but they need to work harder, in my opinion.  Of course there are some unfair aspects, but they can only work harder and do better in order to overcome that.  They just need to work diligently without the need for excuses."

yup exactly.  idols are kinda 'birthed' acting roles because they are the ones in the limelight.  ratings gotta go up so... but there have been so many successful idol-to-actors that a lot of these idols are setting up good examples.

Well said

Hyeri and Min Ah of Girls' day are the best examples of idol-turned-into-actors, who did a great job in acting. Obviously, they really worked hard to improve their acting skills.

I don't mind idol-actors if they do a good job and put some effort into the roles, but I feel like some only get cast because of their popularity and not for their acting skills. I also feel bad for rookie actors who lose out on roles to idols because of their popularity and can see why some of them take the idol route in order to get into acting.

I get his point because some idols who act don't even want to act so they lack the passion needed to carry out the role. Some of them are pressured by their company. I remember in an interview Hyeri said that she didn't even know she was auditioning for Reply 1988 until someone from her team told her. Thankfully Hyeri did a good job but for other idols that's not the case.

i don't mind idol actors/actresses but the ones that do get the chance has to freakin put in some effort. I am not going to say all idol-actors are bad because obviously some really knows what they're doing. However, a lot of these idols are casted because they're popular idols. If they're going to try their hands on acting then they should really give it their all. People are watching them on screen. Honestly, IMO I try to avoid all dramas that has an idol involved unless I've heard good reviews from others.

this guy really annoys me.  he was the GOD who didnt want to get back together all paranoid how it might affect his acting career.  he takes himself way too seriously, what a ass.

I assume you only read the title...

nanuk smokeee Tuesday, August 30, 2016

Everything he said is true; idols have to work diligently to overcome some unfair aspects (including increased judgement) that only really they will face. You're such an ass - you didn't even read the article before commenting, and still thought it wise to comment rudely.

smokeee nanuk Tuesday, August 30, 2016

hey dumbass, how does that change my initial post?

nanuk smokeee Wednesday, August 31, 2016

It doesn't change your post - your post is still dumb af.

Im guessing you don't know the real reason why he didn't want to be with the GOD members.. but heres a video where they meet up again and talk about the past. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ax6PGjr2ByI

THIS is ONE of the reasons why I like GD, he gets a looot of offers for acting in movies and drama but he always rejected. He really respects actors and believes the roles offered to him should go to actors who have the true passion and fire for it. he doesnt mind doing cameos and specials but he knows acting isnt for him, even when YG advised it would be good. Still, YG respected his wishes to do other things he legit cares for. There's also TOP who has both musician, artist and acting blood in him. Yoon Kye Sung knows the industry and knows who is being forced to act even without talent and he knows all about idols who want to act but need to do more than just complain about others who do get a leverage.

kpoplolita Tuesday, August 30, 2016

also the title makes it sound like kye sung is saying "ya'll actor wannabee suck. Step up yo game"

smokeee kpoplolita Tuesday, August 30, 2016

more like GD knows he can't act. i swear you YG stans find every small chance to hype your idols like they're so great and its so reaching most of the time its funny to me.

LovelyGirl81 smokeee Tuesday, August 30, 2016

Hahaha you again? I swear you antis find every reason to shit on every positive comment about GD. Jealous much? F off!

kpoplolita smokeee Tuesday, August 30, 2016

HE deosnt GAF about acting AS A CAREER, he isnt interested and he knows how to act otherwise he wouldnt have survived in this industry since he was 5. whats worth praising, will be praised, whats not worthy of praise, will never hold up. Its very easy to hype something but MAINTAINING it isnt easy. GD/BB AND OTHER IDOLS (i dont have time to write an essay of all the multi talented idols out there) are worth the hype. take your angry micropenis elsewhere.

FYI, IF he knows he cant (like u claim) THEN EVEN MORE OF A REASON TO STAN HIM LOL Sounds better than idols/celebs who THINK they are #1 in acting when they have no talent for it. i'll happily support someone who is honest and doesnt want to bore the shit out of viewers with terrible acting VS someone who thinks they are #1 when they arent and waste viewers time and ruin the movie/show. congrats you played yourself! XD

u are so dumb. maybe because he's already made it so he doesn't have to find a career like everyone else? if u were GD wouldn't it be easy to turn down everything but if yoiu're a new idol you're not in the position GD is in. i swear u YG stans are incredibly low IQ tbh. i swear the people that downvote my truth comments must take the short bus to kindergarten special ed.

smokeee LovelyGirl81 Tuesday, August 30, 2016

it only balances out the stupid ridiculous exaggerated GD fangirling we've been beat to death with by u annoying bitrches here

CDOCOOLS Tuesday, August 30, 2016

Like another commenter mention, you also need the talent for it. But one thing that irks me is seeing that some idols do not seem to have the passion for acting, but they act because they are being force to act.

smokeee CDOCOOLS Tuesday, August 30, 2016

practice makes perfect. EVERY idol turned actor has gotten better with each movie from when they started. acting is not a natural gift, its practice and experience.

jalila10 Tuesday, August 30, 2016

but there is talent needed ,there is some pepole that even if they try hard , they got no talent in acting , it similar to singing and dancing.. idols should look for the things they are good at ....

smokeee jalila10 Tuesday, August 30, 2016

some may be talented at it, but everyone CAN be good at it. acting is about confidence more than anything. there are FAR more difficult professions in this world to do for someone new to it, and acting is not one of them. most people can act to some degree even without experience.
