The August 17 episode of KBS Joy's 'The Girl Who Leapt Charts' explored how well Seolhyun and Zico match up, using the 'science' of reading physiognomies, i.e. facial features.

MC Lee Sang Min and AOA's ChoA explained, "There is a high possibility that it's difficult for Zico to find a girl who fits his personal preferences. But there is also the high possibility that he will find a girlfriend easily and that he will make up with his ex," basing their analyses on Zico's facial features alone.

The MCs then revealed, "News Zico and Seolhyun's relationship blew up after the recording for this show."

'The Girl Who Leapt Charts' also put forth the claim that Zico's full lips, in particular, make him out to be a competitive type who just has to date the girl he has his eyes on and that Seolhyun's lips indicate that she is drawn to men who are expressive with their affections.

They are actually dating, though. The sunbae-hoobae thing was just how their entertainment companies described their initial connection to each other while trying to be as discreet with their personal info as possible. The fact that they're official and have been dating for months has already been confirmed. That said, I'm sure they don't like their relationship being talked about, seeing as how they tried to keep it secret in the first place. What can I say? Dispatch takes no prisoners.

It hasnt been really confirmed... Yeah, we know that they have been seeing each other for months but that doesn't mean that they are in an oficial relationship. The only sources that have give us info are Dispatch (that only said that they have been seen togheter in Zico's house for months) and their companies (that asked them first what kind of relationship they had before putting the public statements). And if they were really dating the companies wouldn't have said that, it would put them in a difficult position if they actually become an oficial couple.

It has been confirmed. Both of their agencies confirmed it - they just used vague language. Even the article we're commenting on has one of Seolhyun's group members talking about it on-air - it's legit. Their company's statements didn't say the words "they're dating", but they said that they've been seeing each other for a while and that they started developing feelings for each other, and said they hoped the public would accept them warmly - that's an official confirmation (which is why it's being reported as such in Korea and on foreign sites like this). Just wait til the end of this month when Zico goes on Radio Star; his dating news will undoubtedly be on the agenda and he'll talk about it himself.

As for the official couple trouble thing - not all companies operate like that. Often, companies outside of the big 3 allow their idols to date as they see fit. Now do dating confirmations hurt idols? Almost always, but that doesn't stop them from happening. Hani and Junsu, Yoona and Lee Seung Gi, Sulli and Choiza, Kai and Krystal, and so on. They tried to hide it, but they were caught, and since this isn't the first time they were rumored to have been together and Dispatch had dozens of pics and videos of them together that all pointed to dating, I guess they just figured there was no point in trying to hide it anymore and just came out with it. It all seems to be for the best tho, since other than that little birthday-refund temper tantrum Zico's fans threw, everything seems to be going over smoothly for the both of them.

About him being in a relationship? I mean there will always be backlash, and idols always lose a few thousand 'fans' and gain more antis when they reveal they're dating, but that's gonna happen no matter what, it's not as bad as it could have been. From what I've seen Seolhyun's social media has had way more positive messages from her and Zico's fans than hate, and there are no petitions to have them removed from their groups, off of programs, out of events, etc. going around. Who knows, though. I always say "only a comeback will tell" when it comes to these things, because that's when you see how hard the haters are going to go after them and how many fans do or do not come out in support of them. Frankly, I'm surprised people aren't more angry than they already are, since Seolhyun became so disliked by so many *cough* jealous *cough* people when she had her little 15-minute "it-girl" status and was spammed everywhere, plus AOA's recent controversies. Believe me, as far as high-profile idol dating reveals go, this was about as smooth as it could have been. Even still, give it a week and there will be malicious rumors about one or both of them going around. God forbid idols try to live their lives like everyone else and try to grasp onto something as humanly basic and essential as companionship, not on the "fan's" watch.
