IOI members were the guests on the May 24 airing of 'Taxi,' where they sat out under the brilliant sun to have a nice little talk.

MC Kim Young Ja wanted to know if the girls' parents ever worried about them eating right. Jeon So Mi dismissed the concern with a personal message for her own mother, saying, "Umma, it's no good to worry. I eat very well so I think I gained weight. Please rest up at home."

So Mi, who claimed that she gains weight even when she drinks water, also talked about her dieting methods, which led her to lose nearly 10 lbs in in week. She relayed, "I only ate one banana for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was hard at first but it got easier. I lost 4 kg (10 lbs) in one week. It saw great results so I still do [the diet] every once in awhile."

That's really bad for you. If you don't feed yourself enough regularly your body learns to store fat to save energy. You will loose weight for the time but when you start eating your normal diet you gain twice the weight.

I am a little unconfortable with allkpop covering of this... First we get articles about people who do bad dieting and now this, without even a comment about how bad this is for you!!!! I don't think this kind of article is helping at all!

what do you mean by "instead of thinking like a 20 year old"? it's not like you should be thinking like that at any time of your life.

My aunt actually did this before, except instead of 3 meals, she only ate banana for lunch. It was great for her, it helped her lose a ton of weight (granted she didn't lose weight in one week but rather it took her like a few months). I don't believe that you should skip breakfast or have a small breakfast because its the most important meal of the day and you need the energy, but I do think that it's okay to have small meals for lunch or dinner. Banana itself is a good subsitute for a diet, it's still a bit over the top though to do it for 3 meals...

im the same age as her and even i know this type of "dieting" (more like death wish) is bad. she's already extremely skinny, why lose more weight? this is such an unhealthy way to lose weight. i love kpop but i really want these idols to start following western celebrities way of gaining nice bodies - eating healthy and working out. being too skinny isnt actually nice. my friend who naturally has very high metabolism actually struggles to gain weight and its sad. somi, i love you and you are so beautiful but pls dont encourage people to follow this kind of way to achieve a nice body. start thinking healthy and you'd get better results. diets only result in the yo yo effect (losing weight thru dieting but gaining a whole lot more after eating normally again). u cant expect to starve urself forever.

I am not mad at her (or any idols) who do these dangerous eating habits. I'm mad at the companies who don't spend money on a nutritionist so these idols can achieve their goals in a healthy way. Spending a little money on a nutritionist will keep these idols healthy, performing better/longer, and happier in the long run. It's worth the investment and I'm sad to see such young idols STILL going through these ridiculous "diets" in 2016 :(

Even if it's 'once in awhile', for a growing kid this is completely unacceptable. For anyone, it would be actually. You are depriving your body of what it needs. Even if it's healthy, you should have a good intake to keep up with  the amount of energy you exert for your schedules. These companies need to advise these girls properly.

She's a fucking kid. Please ! Can't the compagny teach their idols how to eat healthily? She needs nutriments to grow and I don't know... to survive maybe? This is so fucked up. But in a lot of asian countries, dieting is starving. Being normal is being a fucking whale. Being thin as fuck is being beautiful, perfect and doll-like. I mean, I was there once. I'm tall and slim (1,75 m / 59 kg) and people told me I should watch my arms and tights. Maybe even exercise and go on a short diet. And there I wanted to gain weight...

I also have the feeling that eating disorders don't exist in Korea. The are all a type of dieting.. It's so sad I could cry
