Yoo Yun Suk's girlfriend didn't wait for him while he was in the army?

Actor Yoo Yun Suk relayed a sad tale during the press conference for, ironically enough, a movie called 'Love, Lies' on March 14.  

Park Kyung Lim mentioned Han Hyo Joo's narration from the movie, "Why did I not know at the time?" and asked, "Have you any regrets because you didn't know something at the time?"

The poor, innocent Yoo Yun Suk revealed, "I thought if I went to the army, my girlfriend would wait for me," making everyone laugh.  "My seniors told me that if I go to the army, I should empty out my heart, but I really don't think I knew.  I remember having extreme regrets after going to the army," he concluded.

He then addressed the other youths preparing for their mandatory enlistment, advising them, "I think it'd be good if you focused on your army life after emptying out your heart. Because there are a lot of means now to converse with society from the army, I want to give you hope."
