G-Friend appeared on MBC FM4U's 'Kim Shin Young's Noon Song of Hope' on February 4, where they talked about their group name.

Leader Sowon stated, "G-Friend's group name was chosen by the CEO. At first, we thought it wasn't great. When we were trainees, there was nothing to do, so we would jokingly go around saying, 'Hello, We're G-Friend,' which got stuck, so I think it grew on us."
On top of that, she talked about her life as a trainee, stating, "I trained for the longest time. I did it for five years, and it was hard. It's horrendous to think about. However, I could go back to that. It was horrible before debut, but after debut, I think I could go back to it."
