'SMTM5' to hold auditions in both Korea and the U.S.

'Show Me The Money 5' is going to be bigger and better than ever. If anything, the 5th season is going to be bigger: as in, it's going global.

Mnet stated, "From February 1 to March 6, we will publicly recruit the rapper participants. From this year onwards, we will hold preliminary auditions not only in the country (Korea) but also in the United States, so that anyone can participate. It will be a global preliminary match on an expanded scale."

Mnet's rep explained, "With the new season ahead of us, there was a strong number of requests from overseas rappers who wanted to take part in SMTM. We will expand the opportunity for overseas rappers to participate, and we will show an even bigger variety of talented rappers this season. From the talented rappers, you can look forward to a battle that is one step more intense."

Season 5 is expected to air in May.
