On KBS 2TV's 'Happy Together 3' on December 3, Eric Nam said, "I went to a famous private school in America. I was 15 at the time, and my friends' first cars were foreign ones like Benz and having an elevator and swimming pool inside their homes were a given. That was the average level for the students at the school. I had a lot of friends who lived well. I was a student who got in difficultly.
"Even at the time I entered [the school], I was the only Asian. The kids spit on my face. I was unable to communicate with them well because they were so wealthy. It was hard for me. At first, I simply bore it. I didn't think there was a point in fighting."
