Even though WINNER debuted a year ago, we hadn't seen much of the good looking Kim Jin Woo in individual activities. But that's about to change. He's taking on an acting gig as a lead character!
Kim Jin Woo has been cast in the drama 'Magic Cell Phone'. Despite the fact that he's not had much experience with acting, he's been given the opportunity to take the lead role alongside actress Park Min Ji.
The drama is a joint Korean-Chinese production, for a total of 5 parts. His fellow member Nam Tae Hyun was cast in the first part of the production, 'Under the Black Moonlight', and Kim Jin Woo will be starring in the second part.
As for the storyline? It'll revolve around the romance between an ordinary guy (Kim Jin Woo) and a girl group member (Park Min Ji).
Korea's Aura Media stated, "The freshness of Kim Jin Woo, who is officially taking on acting for the first time, and Park Min Ji, who has an abundance of acting experience, will make for the best acting chemistry."
The drama begins filming in mid-August and is set to air in the fall!
