[Update] Reports say 2NE1 is headed towards disbandment + YGE denies rumors

According to one insider, 2NE1 may be on the road to a de facto disbandment. Reports are stating that an insider from YG Entertainment revealed that the girl group might not be making a comeback anytime soon.

The alleged YGE insider stated to media outlets on June 6, "YGE is preparing for 2NE1's disbandment. We're planning leader CL's American promotions. In Dara's case, she'll likely transition to acting." As for Minzy and Park Bom? The reported insider didn't say much. 

There have been rumors and talk of 2NE1's disbandment ever since the news that CL was planning a debut in the United States. Last October, Minzy also unintentionally fueled the flames when she removed "21" from her SNS profile from "official 2NE1 minzy" to "official minzy."

YG Entertainment has not released an official statement as of yet. What do you think of what the alleged insider said?

[Update: YGE has officially denied the rumors. The agency stated, "The rumors of 2NE1's disbandment are not worth responding to. We were surprised to hear them. They don't make sense at all. 2NE1 are even planning to release a new song this year.]
