After finishing her SBS short 2-part drama 'Mother's Choice', Hwayoung will return to the small screen as the role of Han Ok in the KBS Christmas-special sitcom 'Ok Family'. The sitcom centers around a family that is suspected of stealing the annals of the Joseon Dynasty from the Jeonju Museum. The sitcom will also be in the form of a changgeuk (Korean traditional opera) with its use of pansori (Korean genre of musical storytelling).
The idol-turned-actress shared, "It's very nerve-wracking as I await the filming. It is my first sitcom and because I have to show 'changgeuk' as well, I am preparing even harder. Although I am lacking, I ask that you may look upon me kindly. Through the story of history and family in 'Ok Family', I hope that it becomes a time of healing [for viewers]."
Hwayoung will enter filming for the sitcom on November 1 while also filming her movie 'Today's Love'. Also check out the photos from the script reading below!
