Following the suicide of a female participant on the matchmaking program 'Couple' ('Jjak'), SBS has now cancelled the show.

With the news making headlines the other day and police having confirmed it to be a suicide after all the evidence and the note left behind by the participant apologizing to her parents, many wondered how the show would ever be able to put this behind them.

It seems SBS thought the best course of action was to cancel the show completely, and they announced through a press release on the 7th, "We have decided to cancel the program 'Couple' which experienced the death of a participant during the program's filming... SBS prays that the deceased may rest in peace and we offer our condolences once again... We will do our best to handle the aftermath of this incident and to prevent a similar occurrence in the future."

"We sincerely apologize to viewers for the cancellation of the program 'Couple' and we will make up for it with a better program."
