The production company for IRIS, Tae Won Entertainment, has confirmed today that they will develop a second season for the hit drama, and shooting will began next year in May. President Jung Tae Won of Tae Won Entertainment stated, "We plan to shoot the second season in Italy, New Zealand, Japan, and China. We're currently thinking and planning out the story ideas." However whether Lee Byung Hyun will participate in the second season remains to be seen, as he will be busy filming the sequel to G.I. Joe. It's very likely that Kim Tae Hee and the others will participate in the second season. President Jung also stated, "The viewership has already passed 30% and other countries including Japan have expressed interest in buying the copyright to the drama so there is no reason to not make a second season.
