First Comes Autumn, Then Comes Ballads

Posted by diacat0 pt Thursday, September 17, 2009

When t-shirts and flip-flops no longer suffice to keep you warm and a gently breeze rushes across your face, you know it's autumn. Autumn is the season that brings to light all the concealed feelings we've held deep within our hearts- and what better than Korean ballads to empathize with us? For those of us who are a tad bit sick and tired of music for our eyes- trendy dance moves and over-the-top fashion, veteran ballad singers, like Tei, Park Hyo Shin, or newly solo act Ryan, have jumped back onto the music scene just in time for autumn, and to provide us with music for our ears. Tei took a short break from singing in 2009 to participate in the SBS drama, "Does Everyone Love" and is now back with his 5.5 album. From his debut, Tei has participated in the making of each of his albums'. Tei's newest album is said to contain songs of his signature style, along with songs containing novel styles. He stated, "I'm really excited to see how my fans will react to my new album!" Paran's leader Ryan has emerged as a free soul with his first solo album titled, "Ryan Learns to Love." Ryan has claimed that because the ballad genre is permeated with prominent figures, he is not expecting a paramount degree of success. However, he will be satisfied knowing that he was able to showcase his own style of music to his fans. His new song, "Proud," composed by the amazing Brown Eyed Soul member Jung Yup, is already receiving positive feedback from fans. Park Hyo Shin jumped onto the music scene ten years ago and has remained a strong ballad contender ever since. On the 15th, Park Hyo Shin released his 6th album called "Part 1" after two and a half years. Park is said to have taken his time with this album because he wanted to transport the emotions from his live performances directly into this very album. His song "After Love" has been well-received by the many fans who missed Park Hyo Shin's signature husky voice. Is it just me or do Korean ballads do a little somethin-somethin' to you? Many fans, including myself, are looking forward to what great music autumn will bring and I have a feeling these three artists will definitely contribute to it!
