American rapper OG Maco accuses Korean rapper Keith Ape of cultural appropriation by copying 'U Guessed It'

Buzz
Although Korean rapper Keith Ape is gradually being recognized in the American hip hop scene for his latest collaboration "It G Ma (Forget It)," featuring fellow Asian rappers JayAllday, loota, Okasian, and Kohh, American rapper OG Maco has a bone to pick with Ape's success.

On February 4, Maco accused Ape and his collaborators for copying his track "U Guessed It" as well as using exaggerated racial stereotypes.

Maco wrote on Twitter:

Maco's main beef with Ape is the use of stereotypes, such as grills and lean cups, or styrofoam cups filled with cough syrup ("purple drank"). He is accusing Ape of cultural appropriation, or adopting elements of black culture and using them in a racist manner. Maco has also accused other artists of the same in the past, such as Iggy, Macklemore, and Miley Cyrus.

Maco also seems to credit himself for "It G Ma"s current popularity in the U.S.
