On May 15, the girl group made their highly anticipated comeback with new track ''Signal'' produced by J.Y. Park. The song instantly topped charts and even achieved an all-kill, however, it's also receiving much negative feedback from netizens.

On various online communities, the top rated comments about TWICE's ''Signal'' stated, "Can't believe this song is #1 lol', "The song just sucks", "I'm a fan but this song is disappointing. They should've just gotten a track from Black Eyed Pilseung", ''TWICE got #1 just because of their popularity. The quality of the song is poorest out of the poor", "On 'Happy Together', Sana said their new song sucks and I thought she was just saying that to be funny but it turned out to be true...", "The song is bad but their lack of skills is a bigger issue..."
''Signal'' also received a low rating of 2.5 after 19,000 reviews on Melon.
