He then went on to say, "Personally, I don't view tall women as a woman (I don't want to date tall women)," preferring someone with a short height such as Hyorin. In Korea, when someone says, "I view you as a man / I view you as a woman," that means they are interested in them romantically.
However, it appears netizens took offense to this statement, saying it was a sexist and discriminatory comment.
After receiving criticism, some netizens defended Kim Jong Kook and stated, "He can't express his own opinions now?" "He just said that tall women aren't his ideal type. Is that something to get angry about?" "Well...what a shame that is." "It must be tough putting up with something trivial like this..."
