According to actor Yoo Ah In's label UAA Entertainment, his shoulder injury from approximately a year ago remains an obstacle for the actor to enlist in the military for his mandatory service.

Some time back in 2015, Yoo Ah In injured his shoulder while filming a movie. Despite his hopes to enlist and serve in the Korean military for his mandatory duty, the injury continues to prevent him from fulfilling his active service, even after over a year. The military affairs office in Daegu, through which the actor received his examinations, has decided to postpone Yoo Ah In's enlistment for the 3rd time.

Yoo Ah In first received a physical examination for his military enlistment back in December of 2015, with results stating, "[He] requires a 6-month period in order to observe the injured area." His 2nd examination took place back in May of this year, and he was told again that the injured area needed to be watched over carefully.

The same answer has come around for his 3rd examination, with the status of his military enlistment having been "postponed". His label, frustrated, said that "Yoo Ah In has pushed back his contracts with productions as well as advertisement deals in order to enlist. But we keep hearing that "in this state, we cannot issue a call to enlistment'... At this rate, Yoo Ah In has no options to be able to enlist successfully. He has no choice but to wait for his reexamination date."

We wish Yoo Ah In a full recovery for his next examination.

he will gonna go to office working at the military not at the field i guess... its better to watch his injury of his arm not to injure more and become worst....

What would happen if he couldn't enlist? Because it's not like they can kick him out of the country. Or can they?

Puleun thatweirdkidjay Tuesday, December 27, 2016

He'll probably become a civil worker to fulfill his military service or could be exempted. But most likely the first one.

SpringxTempo Tuesday, December 27, 2016

Can't imagine how stressed he is right now. Especially since there are tons of knetz ready to pounce on him if he doesn't enlist. I'm sure he's trying his best, FIGHTING YOO AHIN!~

bangeryun94 NoonaVip Tuesday, December 27, 2016

He'll probably still have to go the public service route. This man is gorgeous btw. If I didn't have such a huge crush on Bobby, I'd be chasing this man all over the country.

NoonaVip thefabcat92 Tuesday, December 27, 2016

The more the merrier lol

NoonaVip bangeryun94 Tuesday, December 27, 2016

Well holla at me if you want to break BOBBY's arm in a few years 😂

bangeryun94 NoonaVip Tuesday, December 27, 2016

Public service is probably out too since he would have military training. And thanks for the Bobby offer!

Crazy_Dog Tuesday, December 27, 2016

damn that sucks

PacifistDJ_OKO Tuesday, December 27, 2016

REASON!!!

bscm PacifistDJ_OKO Tuesday, December 27, 2016

it was the military who declined to enlist him. not his choice.

NoahL Tuesday, December 27, 2016

Civil Worker doesn't require much physical work probably just sit in office. Very puzzling...

Blue82 NoahL Tuesday, December 27, 2016

Even the civil workers are required to go through the basic training first. If he's not physically able to do the training or it would cause more injury to him then they won't allow him to enlist. Several other actors and idols have had issues. One can't because of scoliosis, another had a car accident and had surgery just to be able to serve, another had surgery on their leg to be able to serve. Each time it took examinations and reports from their doctors before the military would enlist them.

greenbrick NoahL Tuesday, December 27, 2016

Maybe military doesn't want to re-classify him as a civil worker yet. Obviously there is a way for people with serious health issues to pass basic training for civil workers, it's not like they can become more healthy for it. But then everybody might want to damage something temporary if it's an easy way to avoid more difficult service.

is this a good thing or a bad thing cant tell. . .

scarlettdiamond Grimjester Tuesday, December 27, 2016

I think it's a bad thing since the Military Affairs isn't totally dismissing him as unable to serve. So he is in a limbo of doing nothing but not getting any work because he needs to not have any commitments if he does ever get approved. Hopefully, by the end of the re-examination, they will tell him outright if he will finally be able to do his mandatory service or not at all, so that he can move on and actually do something fruitful with the time he has been wasting just waiting.

1020 Grimjester Tuesday, December 27, 2016

Bad thing for sure he's basically forced to just sit around doing nothing

SahanaE Grimjester Tuesday, December 27, 2016

Each time he gets examined, he assumes he's going to get in and therefore doesn't sign any contracts in regards to production or advertising because he thinks he'll be off in the military soon. But every time the military rejects him, he's still can't plan for anything in the long term because he still needs to enlist. So basically he can't commit to any projects but he's missing out every time the military turns him down. Also for Korean men, going to the military is a huge deal. It's almost a rite of passage for them.

Grimjester scarlettdiamond Tuesday, December 27, 2016

that sucks they really should fix that. people shouldn't be forced to put their careers on hold just because the military says they have to. even though it's mandatory it feels like he's being punished for being injured
