Red Velvet is under some negative spotlight from netizens but fortunately not for an incident they had a direct hand in.

Under an online post titled 'The police came for Red Velvet's manager for hitting a fan,' a netizen shared captures and a short clip from Twitter that give a brief breakdown of what happened. The first capture shows police officers walking out of an elevator, presumably walking toward the scene of the incident. The caption for the picture reads, "Hey y'all the police came for Red Velvet's manager for hitting a fan."

The second capture shows the officers confronting who is presumed to Red Velvet's manager, and the caption for this picture reads, "The manager be hilarious lmaoo 'I hit the fan?' That's what the manager said, and when the fan said to check the CCTV footage, that's when the manager was like, 'sorry' looooolll."

Many netizens were outraged by the manager's alleged behavior, commenting, "Damn..." "That's way over the line..." "Omg are you serious...why use violence...," "This is gonna negatively impact Red Velvet...," "Our poor Red Velvet girls...violence is not the answer..." and more.

SM managers are thugs who really shouldn't be around the talent or fans.We all know how they get those jobs.

That's what he gets, if this was in the USA that man would have been arrested by a snap.

Not really. Depends on what the fan did, if anything, to provoke it. And whether the fan pressed charges.

Yes really. Hitting a female is already a crime. What did the fan do, just try to take pictures of their idols, just like any other fan would.

No, hitting a female in self defense or the defense of others is NOT a crime and never has been.

Self Defense? What was he defending himself from? Fans taking pictures of RV, not him.

Fans need to get a grip. These idols are not your toys to play with.  If fans act appropriately they won't get hit. If they approach normal people the ways they treat idols they would be beat down and they know it. Manager are guardians of these idols and are suppose to protect them. Fans use common sense and you won't get hit.

can't shake the feeling the fan exaggerated the whole thing to justify their own bad actions. I'd like to see footage of that manager hitting the fan... This isn't in deference of these overworked managers btw, the companies need to cut these artists and their managers some slack if they don't want situations like these to continue to pop up. Like, better scheduling, and more security measures.

SM needs to ask their scouters to scout better managers. Maybe some that can scare fans into being nice just with just their presence or a glare or something.

Well that's why they need to be scouted right? Don't be so critical when it hasn't been tried and tested.

It has been and it doesn't work. You forget, we've been at this shit a lot longer in the West than you guys have. We know what works what doesn't and what shouldn't but does if you can get away with it.

The fan probably asked for it. Let's be honest, many of them are crazy... It's very hard to deal with people let alone fans xD They are forcing themselves on them, oh the price of fame -.-

Still, violence is not the solution. It's never the solution.

It might be, if only everyone know the limits. Unfortunately some people don't want to *get* a verbal warning adressed to them. It's also their fault that "violence" is the only way to deal with them. Hipocrisy, the violence will always be there. So take care of each other and don't trespass others patience and tolerance.

How is it a solution when in this case, we clearly see more problems arise?

Not a solution? Fan acts the fool. Manager decks fan. Fan goes to sleep. Problem solved.

Now you're exaggerating. And you're saying that hurting idols is not okay but hurting overexcited fans are okay? Double standards much? Ultimately they are all just humans, Communicate by words not by fists.
