Oh My Girl's JinE is taking a break due to her struggle with anorexia.

On August 25, WM Entertainment officially announced, "JinE is stopping all promotions due to her health condition. First, we apologize for the sudden news to all the fans who gave love to Oh My Girl and JinE. She has been showing signs of anorexia since debut and has been going to the hospital to receive treatment. After a long and thorough discussion with JinE, we decided on a break as our artist's health is first and foremost."

The agency continued, "The remaining 7 members will carry on the upcoming schedules without JinE, however, we will continue to support JinE throughout her break. We once again apologize for the sudden news. Please give Oh My Girl unchanging love and attention."

Meanwhile, back in October of 2015, JinE revealed her condition

God, this situation just disgusts me so much! This poor girl, I cannot imagine how much she must be hurting right now. It's hard enough working in the K-pop world where looks and the never-ending fight to achieve perfection are a must- but having your personal issues and your mental illness plastered all over the news not once, but now TWICE!? She must be feeling terrible, and I'm so frustrated with her company right now. Sure, people say "Oh, her company took the issue very seriously", but for her to have a relapse this close to when it was first announced about her disorder....that's no coincidence. I have a feeling that the poor girl probably never got better; going to therapy and then saying a month later that she's doing "much better" is not how that process works. Plus, it was clear that she stayed about the same afterwards (I mean, I know many women are tinier in Korea, but she definitely looked ill.) This girl needs true support, real help, and a BREAK from this industry. I'm sorry if people don't like that, but I'd rather her be out of K-pop and be a healthy, happy individual than in it with a disease that may very well kill her one day. I'm so angry about this, and how clearly this girl's illness has NOT been treated. Glad they're giving her a break that she both needs and deserves, but if they bring her back a month later and try to act like "all is well" again like last time, I don't even want to imagine what she'd have to be going through to deal with that.
