On August 6, 'W' producers announced episode 7 and 8, which were originally scheduled to air on the 10th and 11th, may be canceled or air at 10PM KST as usual depending on how long the Olympics run. Following the announcement, a ton of viewers posted their complaints on the official 'W' message boards, expressing their concerns.

Are you sad to hear you might have to wait another week to find out what happens on 'W'?

Why people don't care about the Olympics? Gosh, It's the biggest organisation in the world and happens only once in four years for a little more than two weeks. Of course normal people care more about the Olympics than a drama. If they air the drama during the Olympics air time (especially if there's a Korean athlete competing at that time) no one will watch the drama and instead they will watch an another channel who airs the Olympics and this would harm the drama. That's a legit decision.

People who aren't interested in sports tbh. I'd watch the opening ceremony and bits of highlights, but that's about it. It's been a while since I've watched it religiously.

People care more about the World Cup? No. It depends on the country. Only a few countries compete in the WC, while almost every single country has an Olympic team. Of course it's bigger.

I get that SOMETHING needs to be cancelled in order to compensate for an extended olympic event, but can't you cancel the show which literally only one grandpa from busan watches? Why a drama that's highly anticipated by the world?
