After releasing his first solo album, 'oNIELy,' TEEN TOP's Niel attended the recording of SBS Power FM's 'Choi Hwa Jung's Power Time' and talked about preparing for his debut.
Choi Hwa Jung said to him, "Because you lost weight, your charming point, your lips, are now even more emphasized." He revealed in response, "While preparing for this solo album, I had to go to the emergency room two times." Perhaps due to high anxiety levels of a solo debut.
When asked what he would do if he met a "lovekiller," Niel said, "I'm a man who doesn't know how to push and pull. I give more love [than I receive]."

It really does appear he worked extremely hard on his solo debut as even during his showcase on February 16, he had stated about a charm unique to himself, "Honestly, I worried a lot. I came out as a solo after Amber. The people who came before me did so well. I started watching with Taemin; I monitored a lot. I looked for stage performances, choreography videos, MVs, and even interview videos. Rather than dealing with competition, I think I filled up the parts that I lacked through them. I also think that we wouldn't really overlap because our musical colors are different."
