The female perpetrator who blackmailed JYJ's Yoochun with his personal photos and text messages found on a phone for 100 million KRW (~98,400 USD) has received her sentence.

According to the Seoul Central District Court on the 10th, Ms. Kim (30), who blackmailed Yoochun with photos and text messages stored on the cellphone belonging to his female acquaintance, has received a jail sentence of 10 months.

The judge stated, "The amount demanded was 100 million KRW and a negotiation could not be previously reached [between the perpetrator and Yoochun's side]... When considering the damage it has cost the celebrity in question and his agency, her crime is considered severe... The perpetrator also threatened the victim with lies saying she knew someone in the media outlets and political field."  However, considering that "The content in question was not widely spread and the damage expense was immediately returned to the victim following the arrest", the perpetrator's sentence was lighter than it could have been.

Ms. Kim found the cellphone presumed to be owned by Yoochun's ex-girlfriend at the shopping district of Cheongdamdong, Gangnam in Seoul in the early morning last February. While looking through the cellphone, she found past photos of Yoochun and text messages exchanged between the former cellphone owner and Yoochun. That same day, the woman called Yoochun and his agency, threatening to release the personal photos and messages to the public if they didn't pay her the said sum of money.

As mentioned before, the woman was arrested by the police at the location that she thought she was supposed to meet up with Yoochun's manager to receive her requested sum.
