It has been unfortunately reported that '1N2D's original mascot dog or better yet 'the nation's dog' Sang Geun has passed away on the 11th.

His owner Lee Woong Jong's reps shared the unfortunate news through their official homepage on the 11th, "The 'nation's dog' Sang Geun was fighting cancer and passed away in his home today at 1 PM KST."

Sang Geun is of the Great Pyrenees breed and was born on April 16, 2004, passing away almost exactly 10 years later. He captured viewers' hearts as the beloved mascot of '1N2D' and following his leave from the show, he had been active in other various programs. Sang Geun was later diagnosed with a mast cell tumor (mastocytoma), which eventually led to his death. Sang Geun's funeral will be held at Gimpo, Gyeonggido where he will be cremated on the 12th at 11 AM KST.
