Numerous Korean celebrities, including variety stars Lee Soo Geun and Tak Jae Hoon, are currently under investigation for suspicion of online illegal gambling, SBS reported earlier today.

Both celebrities are claimed to have bet billions of Korean won on online sports betting websites. The allegations stemmed from an investigation of a gambling ring and its brokers.

SM C&C admitted that Lee Soo Geun was currently under investigation and pledged that the star will be taking time off to reflect, including an immediate halt to all broadcast activities.

"We accept most of the allegations," they said. "He will stop his broadcasts and take some time to reflect on his actions."

"We have nothing to say even if we had ten mouths," they said. "We apologize to everyone who has supported him thus far."

Tak Jae Hoon has yet to release an official statement.

Its only illegal because the government wants a cut of the money, doesn't change my view on any of them.

I hope he can get treatment, reflecting won't help if you aren't able to get to the root of the problem. I know some have very difficult family situations going on they act out like this. Maybe anonymous therapy would help them find solutions to some of the problems. Maybe gambling anonymous. They are addicts and that is not going to get better by reflecting. What is going to happen to their families. I know one has a sick wife or use to. I am sad to see someone self destruct.

It said that he was illegally gambling not that he had a gambling problem.... You don't need to have an addiction to gambling to gamble.

Now, it's reasonable why he leaves 1N2D.

I still remember how Lee Soo Geun was so good at guesting and betting in 1N2D season1, he even said that almost win a house by betting. I thought it was joking, but it's true now.

Why is betting illegal ?
It is an addiction which can ruin your life.

So why its still illegal when they won billions? Coz they didnt pay taxes for it?
Even if they have won this money is from illegal sources, just think about it : do you think the criminals who conduct the illegal gambling have losses? No most probably the money is from other gamblers who lost everything.

Conclusion : Even if you pay taxes and are only winning, you actually ruin other peoples lifes.

Because it's the law, it's illegal in South Korea to bet (online or even in another country). And I guess you mistaken their currency, Won, to mean that they won bets.

@xxhuntressxx reasoning why there is such a law in the first place and Won (₩), solid base for discussion is always understanding why

Isn't Lee Soo Geun the dude that is on that sports variety show that Shim Changmin's on?  Dang, I loved watching Lee Soo Geun interact with Changmin.  I'm gonna miss seeing Lee Soo Geun (I think he's adorable!), but he does need to reflect on what he did wrong and never do it again.  Does reflect in South Korea mean the same as punishment or probation in the USA?  I'm from the USA, so I'm a bit confused.  Thanks in advance to anyone who can explain that to me.

I'm also glad that Lee Soo Geun admitted right away to what he did and is willing to face the consequences. To me, that's a rather brave thing for him to do. Not everyone does that.

No it means he will be shunned and not participating in society. To spend time alone thinking about what he did and feeling sorry for it. We won't see him for a while.

Reflect in terms of South Korean celebrities means stopping all activities and hiding from the public while they are being investigated. If found guilty they face other consequences as well. And admitting right away is a good idea, at least he didn't hide and tried to flee like what Shin Jung Hwan did before.

I'm glad LSG told the truth straight away, just shows how good of a person he actually is. Everyone makes mistakes, and for someone to tell the truth about something like this takes a lot. LSG fighting :)
