The plagiarism debate between IU’s “Some Day” (produced by Park Jin Young) and Ash‘s “To My Man” (produced by Kim Shin Il) has developed into a legal battle.
On January 31st, a representative of Kim Shin Il’s agency revealed to Star News, “After speculations of plagiarism between ‘Someday’ and ‘To My Man’ broke out, representatives of the agency held a two-day meeting on the 29th and 30th. Kim Shin Il revealed that he will be filing a lawsuit.” Legal representatives were also said to have been present during the two-day meeting.
Representatives of JYP Entertainment spoke through Newsen and responded, “We feel unfortunate about the controversy, but should composer Kim Shin Il file a lawsuit, we will be taking action through our legal team.”
