Dominique Noel shows her support for Rie Akiba
Canadian talent and Chitchat of Beauties panelist Dominique Noel has tried to stand up for her friend and fellow panelist on the show, Rie Akiba.
Rie Akiba was recently attacked by netizens for saying she didn’t know which country Dokdo Island should belong to.
Dominique felt that the hate comments directed toward Rie Akiba were simply racist. She shared her thoughts in a diary note on her minihompy. She wrote, “Racism is NEVER okay…Never…What goes around comes around.”
Though she tried to stick up for her friend, it didn’t really work. The netizens started to attack Dominique as well. They wrote comments such as, “You think it’s racism? I’m so shocked. Dominique, stop acting like you like Korea and thinking about earning money. Go to the country you love, Japan.” and “Don’t get involved because I know you don’t know much about the situation between Korea and Japan.”
Are the netizens getting too harsh?

Korean Netizens need to chill..
everyone voices an opinion, some just (way) harsher than others.
korean Netizens are scary…. period…….. LOL LOL LOL
If Koreans perceive any comment on the Liancourt Rocks as potentially offensive, then why do they even bother asking for the opinions of non-Koreans?
I find it hypocritical that there are Koreans that actively campaign in other countries or proselytize directly to non-Koreans on this issue, but they dismiss any opinion that does not emphatically support Korea’s position.
The fact is, this Japanese girl expressed a view that is held by the vast majority of the world. She said, “But it’s difficult to determine which country does [the Liancourt Rocks] belong to.” Guess what? Everybody else in the whole f***ing world agrees.
The Canadian girl suggests this controversy is racist, and it does somewhat seem that way. Have you heard of the Socotra Rock? Basically it is another worthless piece of rock, which is disputed between Korea and China. Where is the outrage among Koreans about China’s claim? It really makes me wonder whether the Liancourt Rocks would be such a public issue if China had a claim. Would Akiba have been harassed so severely if she wasn’t Japanese?
yes they do.. nothing shocks me now.. thet always do such hateful things to people.. i wish they’d stop!
of course the netizens are always harsh, senseless and stupid…
i guess that was nice, thanks anyways
How…. embarrassing… T.T
Korea will be one of the most culturally HATED, despised countries in the world, all due to cyber-dumbshits on the internet.
Netizens are not just netizens. They are Korean fob bitches behind masks.
lols @ gizmodo was that meant to be nice or mean?
