'AWAKE' is Jang Dongwoo’s first solo release in six years and eight months since his 2019 mini-album 'BYE,' which was launched before his military enlistment. The new album captures Dongwoo’s fresh musical perspective, designed to stir emotions dulled by the monotony of daily life. Known for his powerful performances and stage presence, he now showcases a new side of himself as a vocalist through 'AWAKE.'
The title track, "SWAY (Zzz)," explores the delicate process of finding sincerity amid the unending tug-of-war in relationships, likened to the persistent ringing of an alarm. Over the song’s repeating alarm-like beats, the track subtly portrays the intertwined feelings of longing and comfort within the theme of love, delivering an emotional depth that resonates with listeners.
