2PM’s JUN. K has officially released his highly anticipated new track, “R&B ME (Feat. Changbin of Stray Kids),” today (September 1) at 6 PM KST, marking his first Korean album release in nearly five years. The title track comes from his fourth mini-album Dear my muse, a project JUN. K describes as a “gift” to the fans who have supported him throughout his career.
During a press interview, JUN. K shared that the album’s core theme is “easy listening and comfort.” He explained:
“This album is meant to feel like a gift. I wanted the songs to be comfortable to listen to, something both fans and the general public can enjoy. The title track is also easy-listening, with an R&B pop sound that reflects what I truly love to do.”
“R&B ME” combines a lush synth-driven melody with JUN. K’s soulful vocals tell a warm and dreamy story about love. The song takes on a new dimension with a special feature from Stray Kids’ Changbin, who delivers a rap verse in the second part of the track.
JUN. K revealed how the collaboration came to life:
“Originally, the entire song was singing, but I felt it would be great to have a rap part in the second verse. I sent a guide version to the company, and everyone responded positively. When we talked about who could fit the song, Changbin’s voice immediately came to mind. I reached out, and he agreed right away. He even insisted on recording it exactly as I had written, saying, ‘How could I change something my senior wrote?’ I was so grateful for his professionalism and sincerity.”
He also humbly expressed his hopes that Stray Kids fans might discover his music through this collaboration:
“Since I’ve been around for a long time, I know some K-pop fans today might not be familiar with my music. I’m thankful to Changbin for joining, and I hope Stray Kids fans will listen to his part — and maybe also get to know a little of my music too.”
With heartfelt lyrics, a smooth R&B-pop sound, and a powerful collaboration with Changbin, “R&B ME” highlights both JUN. K’s artistry and his ongoing connection with fans, old and new alike.
