Suwon city urges the cancellation of the Japanese adult actress festival

Amid growing opposition from women's groups and civic organizations, who argue that the adult festival constitutes sexual exploitation, Suwon City convened a countermeasure meeting. During the meeting, the city authorities urged the festival organizers to cancel the event, which was planned to take place in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.

According to a report by Yonhap News on March 27, Suwon City held three countermeasure meetings on the 25th and 26th of this month to discuss measures against the adult festival where Japanese AV actresses will be in attendance.

During the meeting, Mayor Lee Jae Joon stated, "I cannot understand nor agree that an adult festival is being held less than 50 meters away from an elementary school," and expressed strong opposition, saying, "I strongly oppose the hosting of events that sexualize harmful products for teenagers."

He further warned, "We will handle this matter together with the police and Suwon Education Support Office. We hope the organizers cancel the event as soon as possible," and stated, "Otherwise, we will take action together with the citizens."

The' 2024 KXF The Fashion' event, organized by an adult content production company, will take place over two days from the 20th of next month at the Suwon Messe in Seodun-dong, Gwonseon-gu.

This event was previously held in Gwangmyeong City last December. Attendees who have undergone adult verification pay an entrance fee to participate in the event, where they can receive autographs from Japanese adult video (AV) actresses, take photos together, and watch a lingerie fashion show.

Previously, a coalition of women's organizations, including the Suwon Women's Hotline and the Suwon Citizens' Society Council, comprising around 30 civic groups, called for the cancellation of an upcoming festival in Suwon featuring Japanese adult video (AV) actors. They argue that the event constitutes sexual exploitation and commercialization of women's bodies. However, unlike the protest's intention, the event ticket sales surged after the publicity of the women's group protests.

Police??? No matter what your moral viewpoint is, there is nothing illegal about this event, and no laws are being broken.
