A New K-Beauty Trend: Achieve the Hemeko Makeup Look

AKP STAFF
Natural makeup trend among K-stars

Lately, there's been a big change in how Korean stars wear their makeup. Instead of the bold and bright looks we're used to, many are choosing a more natural style. This trend is all about keeping things simple and focusing on the beauty that's already there. Using soft, neutral colors, the idea is to make the person's natural features stand out, not cover them up. This new wave in makeup is called the 'hemeko' look, and it's all about looking youthful and fresh.

For anyone who loves following the latest beauty trends, getting into K-beauty products is a must to nail this look. The hemeko style isn't about piling on lots of different products. Instead, it's about choosing the right ones that help your skin look its best with minimal effort. Think light BB creams that even out your skin without feeling heavy, and lip balms that give a hint of color and keep your lips soft.

This shift to more natural makeup is part of a bigger movement that values natural beauty and the idea that less can be more. It's a refreshing change from the more dramatic looks we've seen in the past. Exploring K-beauty products to achieve this look is not just about keeping up with trends; it's about embracing a beauty philosophy that celebrates simplicity and the real you. Whether you're already a makeup lover or new to K-beauty, trying out this trend could be a fun way to experiment with your look in a more understated way.

At the heart of the hemeko look is the blush—essential for achieving that perfect, natural flush. Rom&nd's blush range, with its pastel orange, pink, and lavender hues, delivers a subtle yet striking pop of color, embodying the essence of the hemeko aesthetic.

The hemeko look also embraces glossy lips over bold, matte finishes. Rom&nd's glasting balms offer the perfect solution, providing hydration and a high-shine effect. For those willing to invest a bit more, HERA's lip gloss, particularly the spicy nude shade worn by BLACKPINK's Jennie, is highly recommended for its unparalleled glossiness.

Finalizing the hemeko look requires a subtle touch with brown eyeliner to softly define the eyes without overwhelming them. CLIO's sharp so simple waterproof pencil liner is perfect for this, ensuring durability and precision without the fear of smudging.

While K-stars often have the advantage of working with top-tier makeup artists to perfect their looks, the beauty of the hemeko makeup trend lies in its simplicity and accessibility. With the right techniques and products, anyone can achieve this effortlessly natural look from the comfort of their own home. This approach emphasizes the use of minimalist products that enhance your natural beauty without overwhelming it, making it a practical and achievable look for daily wear. We'd love to see how you recreate this naturally beautiful look. Is this article sponsored by these companies, or is the author a makeup reviewer who tested dozens of brands and came up with these recs?

hemeko stands for 헤어 메이크업 코디 “hair, makeup, coordination (stylist)” tho? who is calling this makeup look hemeko lol it’s been a very common term in the entertainment field for years now i doubt they’re calling a specific makeup look that.

i searched the term on naver and the results that pop up are about the term itself that i explained above, PLUS an online store called HemekoLab. makes me think this is some forced marketing for this company LMAO
