#Savejisu trends on Twitter as popular Korean YouTuber asks for help

AKP STAFF

Recently, the hashtag #savejisu has been trending on Twitter as fans of a popular Korean ASMR YouTuber spread the news that the YouTuber is in need of help.

On February 18th, YouTuber Jisu Sentiment uploaded a video with the title "Help" and explained to fans his current situation. According to the YouTuber, he met a man who claimed to be his fan. The man claimed he is gay and was making a living as a prostitute for men, but was constantly struggling financially and mentally for years, nonetheless. The YouTuber sympathized with the man's difficulties, especially because Jisu has always been a supporter of sexual minorities. The man requested monetary help from the YouTuber which Jisu provided the man with $4000 in total.

YouTuber explained that the man continued to attempt to extort more money from him and hired an attorney to blackmail the YouTuber for $30,000. The pressure and stress became too great that the YouTuber ultimately attempted to take his own life in 2019. To overcome the time of difficulty, the YouTuber began creating ASMR content which gained much attention.

Currently, the man continues to text the YouTuber and threatens him to send the lawsuit papers to the YouTuber's home. Additionally this month, the civil court ordered Jisu to give this guy $10,000 without any reason after he asked the court for $30,000 in damages. Even though the man failed to prove the authenticity of his fabricated evidence to support his false claims, the YouTuber has decided to give the man the money because he is extremely exhausted after two years of fighting with absolutely no protection from the authorities.

Therefore, the YouTuber's fans have taken it to social media in an attempt to provide some help to the YouTuber. Many have tweeted messages requesting support for the YouTuber using the hashtag, #savejisu.
