While women in the Western culture strive for full luscious lips like Kylie Jenner, women in Asia are going under the knife to achieve the complete opposite. 
Lip reduction surgery has become increasingly popular in Asian countries. The 15 to 30-minute procedure cuts out the inner side of the upper lip for a thinner look. The patient can get the stitches removed in about a week.

The cost of lip reduction is about 2,200,000 KRW (1,976 USD) to 11,000,000 KRW (9,879 USD). Regarding the procedure's rising popularity, a Thai plastic surgeon Nuttae Nuttapon commented, "Asian people tend to prefer lighter skin, slim face, and thin lips."
On the contrary, women undergoing lip augmenting procedure has increased 50% over the 16 years in America, according to American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
