Buzz
A Colombian TV show mocked the racist gesture from the South Korea vs. Colombia soccer game.

During South Korea vs. Colombia match on November 10, Colombian player, Edwin Cardona, made racist gestures toward the Korean captain Ki Sung Yong by slanting his eyes with his hands.

Captain Ki later commented that even though dirty play on the field can sometimes occur, "racial discrimination can never be tolerated." Many Korean soccer fans also expressed anger toward the racist gesture and even demanded Edwin Cardona to be suspended.

The Colombian player later apologized through the Colombian Football Association for "causing misunderstandings."

Shortly after, the controversial incident was discussed on the Colombian TV show 'La Kalle'. Despite the Colombian player's apology, the hosts mocked Asians by wearing a face mask and also imitated the slant-eye gesture.

This is not the first time Asians have been mocked on Colombian TV. K-Pop group BTS experienced racism on the show 'Dia Dia' where the panelist made the slant-eye gesture during the segment about the boy group.
