Sung Si Kyung expressed gratitude and concern to fans after his upcoming fan meeting sold out, while also urging them not to purchase illegal resale tickets.
On March 7, the singer shared a message through his social media account saying, “I heard the news that the fan meeting has sold out. Thank you.” He went on to explain the reason behind choosing the same venue as last year despite the growth of his fan club.
“Last year, even when the fan club had around 6,000 members, there were about 400 seats left at the venue, so we had to proceed with general ticket sales,” he wrote. “Now the number of members has grown to around 8,000, but I was worried that choosing a much larger venue might lose the intimate atmosphere of a fan meeting, so we decided to hold it at the same place again.”
Despite the success, Sung admitted he felt sorry for fans who were unable to secure tickets. “I feel apologetic to those who couldn’t come. It’s not easy to accurately measure one’s own popularity,” he said.
Looking ahead, the singer also hinted at plans to expand next year’s event. “Next year, I will either look for a slightly bigger venue or consider holding two sessions at a smaller venue,” he added.
Sung also delivered a firm message regarding ticket scalping. “Please do not buy scalped tickets. Instead, let those scalpers who joined the fan club just to resell tickets end up attending the fan meeting themselves,” he said, asking fans not to support the illegal resale market.
Meanwhile, Sung Si Kyung’s fan meeting 'April' will take place on April 18 at Jangchung Arena in Seoul.
