Simon, the 39-year-old producer behind girl group XG and a former member of boy group Dalmatian, has been arrested in Japan on charges of drug possession.
According to the Japanese daily Asahi Shimbun, Tokyo Metropolitan Police arrested Simon (real name Junho), along with three others, at a hotel in Nagoya on February 23 for alleged violations of Japan’s Narcotics Control Act. Police said they received a tip that the group had used drugs, including cocaine, while staying at the hotel. Authorities reportedly seized cocaine and marijuana at the scene.
Industry sources in Japan said Simon was taken into custody in the early hours of the morning after being found in possession of cocaine and marijuana in a hotel room. The three individuals accompanying him are said to be officials from a major Japanese entertainment agency. Police are currently investigating how the drugs were obtained and other details surrounding the case.

Simon debuted in 2010 as a member of the K-pop boy group Dalmatian, joining the group in 2012. The group effectively disbanded in 2013. That same year, he began working as a producer and later established his own entertainment company in 2017. In 2022, he launched the seven-member girl group XG, composed entirely of Japanese members.
XG has recently drawn significant attention in the global market and is currently on its second world tour. The group kicked off the tour in Yokohama from February 6 to 8, drawing approximately 60,000 fans over three days. They continued the tour in Nagoya on February 22, and Simon was reportedly in attendance.
Following local media reports of his arrest, a representative from XG told The Fact that they are aware of the news and are in the process of confirming the situation.
