Actor Jo Han Gyeol is currently starring in tvN’s drama 'Undercover Miss Hong', which has aired up to episode 10 as of February 15 (KST). Its gripping storyline has captivated viewers nationwide.
Jo shared that he occasionally hears people say he resembles BTS member Jin. On February 17(KST), he appeared on the YouTube channel 'Hong Suk Chun’s Jewel Box.'
During the broadcast, Jo shared the story of how he first met Hong Suk Chun. He recalled, “When I was around 19 or 20 years old, I appeared in the drama 'Jinx’s Lover' with Seonbae (senior actor). Unfortunately, we didn’t share any scenes together until the last day of filming, when our scenes finally overlapped. That day, Seonbae was really happy to see me.”
In response, Hong Suk Chun said, “I was a bit disappointed to see you only on the last day. But I remember telling you back then that you’d do well,” showing his pride.
When asked about being compared to BTS’s Jin, Jo Han Gyeol said, “I do hear it occasionally from people around me. I’m very thankful and truly honored.” Standing at 181 cm (about 5’11”), Jo added, “I was expected to be around 170 cm. Thanks to my father feeding me a lot, I grew taller.” He also shared that he had been active in sports since childhood, stating, “I played baseball from elementary school until the second year of high school.”
Regarding his ideal type, Jo confessed, “I like innocent-looking faces.” Reflecting on his school days, he said, “I wasn’t extremely popular, but I guess I had some attention. Back then, my middle school and high school were connected, so sometimes older girls would come watch us.”
Jo also shared a story about being scouted on the street. “I really loved going to the sauna, almost six times a week. One day, a middle-aged man kept staring at me in the sauna. I was naked at the time. As I was about to leave and put on my clothes, he called me over. When I told him I had a company to go to, he left,” he recalled with a laugh.
